As a veteran of companies such as Apple, Microsoft, and Google, throughout my tenure, I've worked with both exceptional and ineffective leaders. My core expertise lies in software development, but I have found that my true passion is helping struggling teams transform into exceptional ones. I address issues such as attrition, project setbacks, and low morale with an approach that centers on fixing cultural problems, nurturing talent, developing leaders, and creating strategic plans for self-sufficiency. 

 

Since 2015, I have been fixing struggling work teams in top technology enterprises. I have a proven track record of transforming teams into thriving organizations and developing leaders through challenges. At Microsoft, I revitalized two organizations and achieved consistently top workgroup health scores from 2017-2022. Similarly, at Google, I turned around two organizations and successfully mentored leaders for my succession in both roles. With my engineering experience in the technology sector, I guide teams through challenges such as: 

  • Succession planning 

  • Mentoring future leaders and growing individuals into managers 

  • Helping managers scale and grow future managers on their teams 

  • Helping teams transition through changes (leadership departures, restructuring, program cancellations, and new opportunities) 

  • Ensuring that teams have proper load balancing, and that work-life balance is achieved 

  • Growing diversity and representation on teams 

 

Some industry professionals and consultants believe leaders should focus on their team, while others encourage a focus on the business. I look at the teams, their internal organizations, and the company as a whole—and I deeply believe that all three need to be prioritized. 

 

During good times, management is one of the easiest jobs, but when things get hard, it can be the most challenging job in the world. So challenging, that many managers choose to return to the role of an individual team contributor. 

 

A testament to my success in transforming struggling teams into thriving ones is that many I have left behind are still operating under the same leadership team I built. My ultimate goal is to empower teams to thrive independently, allowing me to move on and tackle new organizational challenges.
